We will bring the concept and idea of critique into productive constellations with a variety of concepts and categories pertaining to social and cultural theory. In doing so, and by highlighting fundamental societal and existential challenges of the 21st century, we will reflect upon the possibilities and potentials of a productive critique of society, especially concerning its implications for academic theory and lived practice.
The next conference of the “Radical Thought in the Anthropocene” project will take place under the title "heories and Concepts of Critical Theory" from June 26 to 28, 2025. In addition to renowned keynote speakers such as Rodrigo Duarte, Lydia Goehr, Sven Kramer and Michael J. Thompson, the focus of the next edition will be on young researchers. The Symposium 2025 will once again take place in room MR 33.0.010 at the Department of Translation Studies, Merangasse 70, 8010 Graz.
